The vision for the project is to create more greenery, reduce traffic, and provide space for urban life in Copenhagen's streets.

Third Nature, in collaboration with Tscherning and LINQ, are awarded a new project on the 2024 Urban Life Spaces Fund project (Bylivsgadepuljen) by the City of Copenhagen.

This year's fund is expected to enable the establishment of six to seven new Urban Life Spaces. Through citizen-driven initiatives, these spaces will bring more greenery, additional seating areas, and reduced car traffic.

Did you know that as much as 58% of the area between the city's buildings is used for roadways and car parking? The purpose of the Urban Life Spaces Fund is to reallocate part of this space to provide more green areas and recreational opportunities for the benefit of the city's residents.

This will be achieved by creating surface-based urban space solutions on existing sidewalks and road areas, making the project less construction-intensive than traditional urban space and traffic projects.

We look forward to collaborating on shaping the future of Copenhagen’s Urban Life Spaces — a city with more greenery and room for community.
